Rugby World Cup Final

Bugger.

Congratulations South Africa.

That's all I'll say about it. I now intend to spend the rest of the evening eating chocolate, and looking for fanfic and random online comment threads that'll cheer me up.

Current Mood: disappointed disappointed

I just sympathised with you over on Telperion's LJ. I watched it in the hope of an underdog victory, but sadly it was not to be.

*offers big box of Belgium chocolates*

Hope you fine some fic, and threads etc. Telperion has posted the next chapter of hers, and there are a couple of short numbers pieces by Emma and Irena. Irena's icon in a reply she made to a comment of mine is simply to die for.

Thanks. *mmmmm... chocolate*

But, the latest chapter from Telperion? That might be enough to cheer me up. Must go check my f-list.

I finally got the tape from my friends and had a Numb3rs fest this morning. And also the season two episode that was on ITV yesterday. Mmmmm... Charlie and the hair, and the enthusiastic maths demonstrations.

oooh, a Numb3rs fest!! Lucky you!! Yes, Charlie's hair really is indecent and makes one want to do all sorts of interesting things to him on top of a chalk board ..........

But don't give up on Don. I really couldn't see what the others were raving about for about 3 eps (although I found fic Don very hot), but then suddenly, round about ep 4, he just clicked with me and I thought oh dear god, this guy is seriously, seriously hot and since then I've been totally hooked on both him and Charlie .........

Yeah its a shame but they were the better side. We might have managed to pull it back if the try had been awarded, but sadly that was not to be.

Yes, I was so shouting and cheering when he went over the line, and then when it was disallowed it was just so disappointing.

Oh well, as you say, S.A were just the better side on the day, and at least we made a better show for ourselves than the last time we faced S.A. It wasn't a bad last few matches considering how terrible England looked at the start of the tournament.

I've finally decided what I'm wearing to the Halloween do now, and have bought practically everything that I need props and costume-wise from Yeomans Army Store and Wilkos today. Some assembly is required for a few bits, and with the amount of carry-mat, gaffa tape and double-sided sticky tape, I'm going to be haing flash-backs about making larp gaffa weapons in my living room tomorrow.

Cool. Is it a secret? What is it? What is it?

SWAT team operative. Mostly involves wearing a lot of black, and making a suit of kevlar body armour out of carry-mat and black gaffa tape. Not very Halloween-y, but neither was last year's Jedi, so never mind. The difficult part is going to be trying to make holsters for the pistols.

I feel your pain, I was so hoping we'd pull it off, but they did play the better game. After the evil toes of doom denied us our try, and we lost Robinson....

*wallows in the vague grey of disappointment*

It's such a shame that Robinson couldn't finish the match, especially since I believe he was intending to retire (again) from International rugby after the World Cup, so that was almost certainly his last match. I always started cheering and shouting whenever Robinson got the ball, because it was usually a good bet that he'd do something exciting with it. Although I suspose we can take some comfort in the fact that Tait seems to be turning a decent successor to Robinson. Will have to watch out for him in future.

*still wallowiing and searching for chocolate*

Robinson looked thoroughly miserable coming off, and then later in his little arm sling thing, and yeah the other half said something about him being retired now. What a miserable exit to his career :(

I was all ready to call Tait useless until he started being impressive. I may have to give him the benefit of the doubt now.

*Has yet to be given any free chocolate :( *

I'm now having a very big SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEE after the result of the race!!!

I shall now have a large drink and a quiet slide into fic-related oblivion :)

Didn't expect that result, but oh boy are we enjoying it now !!!

Hope your afternoon on 3Y went well :)

So..... (having a quick check back on your comment on a previous thread)... ferrari won then? *has bemused expression of someone who knows nothing about the sport*

But yey, good to know you are happy about it.

Erm, small confession: I did absolutely no writing at all today. I'm still grappling with a plot re-write, and I was intending to do it this evening, but then went to the cinema instead to see Stardust. I recommend the film totally, it's based on a Neil Gaiman book (which I've never read) and is a good old fashioned fantasy romance, very funny, and has an entire cast of famous actors that you've seen in other stuff (including a bit part by the guy who played Connor's mate Tom in Primeval). And the actor playing the lead was really very cute. Yes, I'm shallow. Meh.

Hoping to get back on track with 3Y tomorrow. I *think* I know how I'm going to do the re-write. Means far more Lester than I intended. I blame you for making me write good guy/heroic Lester.

Although on the plus side today, I did catch up with about five weeks worth of Casualty, Commando: on the front lines, and last week's Robin Hood. My favourite doctor has left Casualty. Shame, he was the only really cute one.

Yep, Ferrari won and Leda_speaks and I are busily yelling and dancing!!

Glad you liked the film, Mr fb and I were thinking of going, so I think we defiitely will now.

Oh no, a major re-write ? Best of luck with it. But yay for a heroic Lester !!!!!!! I accept the blame *grins*

Sounds like you had a real fun watch-fest yesterday !!!!!!!!!!!!

if it helps any:
1) I've finished "round about and watery" and am plotting the sequel and a Rome fic.
2) long tongue action, spreading of legs...I love National Geographic: http://video.msn.com/video.aspx/?mkt=en-us&fg=rss&vid=fd4c9545-27da-4654-84d6-bac309984f7a&from=imbot_default&wa=wsignin1.0
(nothing untoward on the site, I assure you)

You think you're disappointed? I'm an All Blacks and Eagles fan.
