fic word count for 2009

Happy new year everyone. Since everyone else seems to be doing it. I decided to do a quick word count of the fic I've written this year (okay, it wasn't actually quick because it took ages for me to go through my masterlist and update the spreadsheet that I've been failing to keep up to date, but never mind).
Somewhat surprisingly my Primeval fanfic word count for 2009 is almost the same as 2008. Total words posted in 2009 was approx 80750, including two vs3 episodes which by themselves were 26900. That was spread over 32 standalone fics or chapters within a longer series, 43 drabbles, and the 2 vs3 episodes. The total for 2008 was 85070, so it's actually slightly less this year *pout*.

The big surprise was how many drabbles I've written this year. I was feeling bad because I thought I hadn't written many. Then I counted them and it turns out that my drabble total for 2009 (4300) is higher than the total for both 2007 and 2008 put together! Also I wrote a lot more 18 rated smut in 2009 than in previous years, including the Becker/Connor/Nick 'Need' mini series (9150 words in total). Obviously I'm blaming the Denial crowd for being bad influences!

Longest individual fic this year (not counting vs3 eps) was 'Not the End of the World' at 5700 (very closely followed by 'All the Trimmings' at 5600).

The disappointment of the year was that at the start of 2009 I was determined to write more Connor/Abby fic, but have spectacularly failed to do so. I've tried, but they never got finished. Right now my hard drive seems to be the place where unfinished C/A fic goes to die! Also, I've got 9000 words of unfinished Big Bang fic waiting for me to get back to it at some point.

And speaking of unfinished things, I'm off to make a start on the word count for 2010...
