drabble: Nesting Behaviour

      “Oi! Sid!”

      Abby followed the yell and found Connor in just his boxers and one green sock, glaring at their resident diictodons.

      “They used my sock for their nest!”

      Sid chittered at him disapprovingly, and poked Connor’s sock deep into the cocoon where Nancy was nursing the first diictodon babies to be born since the Permian.

      Connor cocked his head and sighed. “They are cute, I suppose.”

      “Don’t you dare get broody,” Abby warned.

      “Substitute ‘broody’ for ‘horny’ and you’d be closer.” Connor pouted. “The animals are getting more action than me lately.”

      Abby rolled her eyes.

      Then she pounced.
