fanfic: Silence

Written for the Primeval100 'Alone' challenge.

Title: Silence
Author: Athene
Fandom: Primeval
Characters: Abby, Connor
Rating: PG
W
arnings: none
Spoilers: Post 2.7
Challenge: Alone
Word count: 100
Disclaimer: Not mine. ITV and Impossible Pictures own them.

Connor doesn’t talk so much any more. Not about the things that actually matter. Hardly even about the things that don’t – the random, the day to day stuff of life.

Abby understands why, she really does, but that doesn’t mean she has to like it. He’s getting far too good at hiding his pain. They both are. Abby hates it, but they don’t talk about that, either.

At work they project the image of an efficient partnership. At work everyone thinks they’re both okay, because they still have each other.

At home, even when they’re together, Abby feels like she’s alone.
