Not again!!!!!!!
Dear Casualty writers

Much as I love your convoluted plotlines, and comfortably predictable accidents, and the fun game of 'guess which bit-part character is going to die this week', I have one teeny weeny little request.

Please stop getting rid of ALL MY FAVOURITE CHARACTERS!!!!!!!

Yours

Long term Casualty fan
(becoming less so, the more you get rid of all the characters I actually like!)

In other news, why tonight, of all nights, did Merlin have to overrun? Because in the time it took to stop it recording Merlin, get the disc out, and get a new disc in, the FINAL episodes of The Killing series 3 had already started over on BBC4, so now I have to remember to record the repeats on Monday and Tuesday. What's the betting I'll forget?

Clearly TV hates me today :-(

This is why I bought a hard disc PVR, not a DVD one. The machine does all the work for you, and if it's a twin tuner (as mine is) you can record two different shows simultaneously.

I recorded Merlin tonight and haven't watched it yet, so I do hope my PVR caught the end. I shall be most displeased if not! Have been doing my Christmas decorations and trying to write, with not much success so far...

Every week until now it hasn't been a problem, because Merlin was on 8.00 - 8.45, or at the very latest 8.10 - 8.55, and The Killing starts at 9.00, so I've had time to swap discs and record both. Typical tonight Merlin was supposed to run 8.15 - 9.00, which would have been tight, but do-able if it finished on time, but it didn't start until nearly twenty past, so The Killing had already started by the time Merlin finished. :-(

Hope you haven't missed the end of the ep. I think it's repeated on Friday on BBC3 if you have. Although that explains why you haven't done a reaction post! I did wonder. :-)

I did a bit of Christmas shopping this afternoon, but apart from that have mostly spent the day writing (Merlin fic! New fandom! Yey!), and pootling about on the internet and watching tv and procrastinating. I have rediscovered Jigsaw Planet, and lost at least an hour and half this afternoon!

I can get it on iplayer, too, if necessary. It's bloody annoying when they don't put shows out on time, because loads of people are probably using PVRs to record things these days. And it's started at so many different times this year I can't keep up. Just pick one and stick to it, Beeb!

Yes, I know they can't help it sometimes if a sporting event over-runs, but if they have things like the news, or other live shows, they can cut them by a minute or two to get things back on schedule. Or even *not* show one of those Christmas on the BBC trailers *yet again*! It was rather annoying when it was clear Merlin was already starting late, and yet they still had a couple of Christmas trailers after Strictly before Merlin started. If they hadn't bothered with those, it might have only started a two or three minutes late, instead of about five minutes.

If I have to set something to record while I'm out, I tend to put an extra couple of minutes on the beginning and end, just in case, but it's a good thing I was actually in tonight, because just a couple of minutes wouldn't have been enough to get the end of Merlin.

Oh THAT was what happened! I couldn't understand why my tape stopped recording Merlin before it finished.

I don't think it was Merlin, Strictly went on past 8.15. I suspect it was actually the news over-running.

*something* over-ran at some point in the day, that's for sure. Strictly didn't finish until nearly twenty past, and then there were about three trailers for Christmas on the BBC before Merlin started, so there was no chance of it finishing by 9.00 :-(

And now I'm in mourning for another doctor on my favourite hospital drama :-( I know it's the nature of the programme to have a fair turnover of cast and characters, but why does it always seem to be the ones I like that leave? *wails*

I would put money on it being the news, with the awful shootings in the USA. :-(

I don't watch Casualty so don't know who's left but yes it's bound to be the ones you like that leave. Always is.

And only two more eps of Merlin left! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!

I know! Two more eps and then no more Merlin! And it's all going to get very angsty by the look of things (although to be fair, it was always going to be angsty considering the plotline for this year...).

I think it may have been Strictly, actually, as I don't recall it starting late, and I do normally get pretty narked if that happens! :) Might have helped if they hadn't put in their final 'This is how much I really want to get to the Final' VT when it became obvious they were going to overrun slightly...

Grrrr! *shakes fist at Strictly*
